Ladakh is among the highest and most remote regions in the world, known for its splendid isolation. Travelers come to Ladakh via either from Srinagar crossing Zojila mountain Pass or fly directly from Delhi. Ladakh is known as the rooftop of the world situated at an average altitude of over 3600 meters above sea level. It is nestled in barren mountain peaks and drained by many tributaries that flows to join the mighty Indus.
The ‘gateway’ to Ladakh is Zoji La mountain pass which connects Kashmir with Ladakh. Khardung La mountain pass situated at above 5300 meters is considered among the highest motor-able pass in the world connecting Nubra Valley to Leh. Ladakh remains cut off from the rest of the world for more than six months.
