Mohanmarg (Mohandmarg) is located in the beautiful Sind Valley in Ganderbal. Mohanmarg is known for its lush meadows, breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, and serene landscapes.

Itinerary

Detailed Itinerary

7:00-09:00 AM – Departure from Srinagar

Hire a cab or drive to the base village near Dara or Narbal, around 1 to 1.5 hours from Srinagar.
Carry essentials like packed breakfast, snacks, water, and trekking gear.
Enjoy scenic views of the Dal Lake and Zabarwan range en route.

8:30-10:30 AM – Arrival at the Base (Dara/Narbal/Watlab side)

Begin the trek from Dara or Narbal, depending on your route.
The trail starts with a gradual ascent through dense pine forests and alpine meadows.
Keep an eye out for wildlife such as Kashmiri stag (Hangul), wildflowers, and shepherd settlements (Dhokas).

9:00-11:00 AM – Midway Rest at Dhokas (Shepherd Huts)

Take a short break near the shepherd huts (Dhokas) for breakfast.
Enjoy panoramic views of the Sindh Valley and snow-capped peaks.
Interact with local shepherds to learn about their lifestyle.

12:00-1:30 PM – Reach Mohanmarg Meadows

The landscape opens up to expansive meadows covered with wildflowers (especially in summer).
Enjoy the views of the Sind Valley, mountain ranges and surrounding forests.
Take photos, relax, and soak in the natural beauty.

2:00 PM – Lunch at Mohanmarg

Have your packed lunch while enjoying the cool breeze and scenic surroundings.
Explore the area, take short walks around the meadows, and spot rare Himalayan flora.

3:30 PM – Start Descending

Begin the return trek following the same scenic route back to the base.
Enjoy different viewpoints and take it slow to enjoy the landscape.

6:30 PM – Reach Base Village

Celebrate your successful trek with tea/snacks at a local tea stall if available.
Board your cab or vehicle for the return journey.

8:00 PM – Arrival in Srinagar

Back to Srinagar by evening.
End of tour. Drop at Srinagar.
